There are whole genres of books dedicated to the fields of, say, being a detective, or being a space patrolman, or being a zombie back from the dead, which are fairly rarefied in terms of their actual human application. But the only genre that is actually dealing with sexual material is this gritty, unpleasant, under-the-counter kind of genre, where there are absolutely no standards.

A comment I wholeheartedly agree with, by Alan Moore, from an interview quoted in an old review I recently stumbled upon of his erotic masterpiece, Lost Girls. It's so hard to find "high-class" pornography because people assume that if it deals with sex, then it's automatically smut. Just because most porn is trash doesn't mean that it has to be that way...

The only kind of 'docking' I know about involves two penises touching tips. One having its foreskin pulled over the other.

If you're both circumcised then it's just a snoodle.

A distinction must be made between eroticism and pornography; the media have blurred the disparity to an unforgivable degree. For those intelligent enough to recognize the difference, erotica will continue to hold a unique fascination. Social evils should not be confused with the pursuit of true beauty.
