Some Musical Experiments:

The Quantum Soup (a 40-minute improvisational exploration into the depths of sonic hedonism) - This song began as simply an outlet for my frustration at the time. I just needed to expel some negative vibes from my system, so I cranked the distortion and activated my wah pedal. I started playing around with some soloing forms that I use on another song I play, but then my wah pedal fritzed out on me. So I disconnected the wah, and then lost complete control of any sort of conventional order or structure and just played purely for the sake of the noise. Lots of feedback, lots of crunchy riffs, and there's even some ambient portions. I won't defend it from a musical standpoint, but frankly, I find its a great stress reliever to listen to this piece on high volume, especially when I'm alone, and it's even better at night when the weather is dreadful. {recorded in January of 2006}

Lost Bow Jam - This is a bow jam that was lost (or rather, ignored) for years. It was recorded in March of 2007 and uncovered in August of 2010. It's an eerie ambient piece of unstructured noise focused around experimentations with using a violin bow on an electric guitar. Would work great as a moodpiece for Halloween. Download (31MB/34:01)

Clear As Mud - Unfinished concept album featuring the theme of artistic expression, and the difficulty of translating feelings into words and music...and the general frustrations of my life. {recorded between July 2006 and June 2007}

The Lone Axeman - an album of classic rock covers. My first attempt at recording multi-track, and a record of my skills after several years of regular guitar practice (with amateur singing). Recorded throughout the year of 2012, and released [to friends/family] on the eve of the Mayan Apocalypse (just in case).

Following are some ideas I have had for musical projects, that I may or may not pursue in the future:

Amusement Fair - Poetry-based album with musical accompaniment, in the style of Jim Morrison/The Doors' An American Prayer, based around a four-year period which completely changed the way I see myself

Insurrection Avenue - Blues album by the blues-rock duo The Crunge

To The Grave - Blues album in the style of Eric Clapton's From The Cradle, featuring covers of classic blues songs that stuck with me through the years

Thirteen Planes Of Hell - Instrumental album featuring thirteen soundscapes, based on the first book of Ascension

The Phobos Anomaly - (1) A post rock album featuring many experimental and atmospheric tracks, or (2) an album featuring expanded experimental jams on songs from the original Doom games

Sea Sand Sun & Sky - A four-sided LP, with each side dedicated to a different element, which is explored musically through the use of specific instruments. The album is opened and closed with an overture-type track that interweaves the different elemental themes into a dynamic central motif

Live At Pompeii - It is my dream to record a live album at the coliseum in Pompeii, exactly like Pink Floyd, but playing our own original songs in the same vein (perhaps the same band as on The Phobos Anomaly?)
