Go At Your Own Pace

yeah, you were thrown into this crazy
mixed-up world without a choice
nobody asked you to pick a family
whether you'd like to be poor or rich
you didn't decide the color of your skin
or your gender but here you are just the same
so get used to it, you are everything you've got
and you're gonna need it

slow yourself down, go at your own pace
in life, it's the losers that finish the race
admire the view, and take a deep breath
you won't get the chance, when you're staring down death

life's a thrill ride and you'll experience your share
of the dizzying highs and the frightful lows
you'll be lucky to survive
but remember, nobody gets out alive
you won't always get your favorite toy
girls will come and go, and so will jobs
take what you need, but spread the rest around
a good friend can always help you out of a ditch

slow yourself down, go at your own pace
in life, it's the losers that finish the race
admire the view, and take a deep breath
you won't get the chance, when you're staring down death

the key to a happy life is to indulge a little
but don't exhaust the supply
and don't waste your time
desiring the things you can't have
take heed of what you've got
however little it may be
you know, sometimes a little sacrifice
will bring a smile more important than your own

slow yourself down, go at your own pace
in life, it's the losers that finish the race
admire the view, and take a deep breath
you won't get the chance, when you're staring down death
