Notes: This is the first of the two part Pink Floyd special - which is really the best band to play during the spooky season, to get in the mood for Halloween, especially if it's earlier material from when Pink Floyd were less of a pop band. And that's exactly what this is. Another of my treasures procured at the Lighthouse in Tokyo - an early live concert featuring Pink Floyd in Copenhagen in 1970. Most of the songs here are from the albums A Saucerful of Secrets, Atom Heart Mother, and More. The sound quality isn't the best, but the quality of the music being performed is fantastic, if at times a little unconventional.

I split the live concert over two shows, and to fill the space after the end of the first disc, I played more songs in the key of 'spooky', including two of my all-time favorites - CSN's Guinnevere and QMS's Long Haired Lady. Also included is Planet Caravan, the unsung masterpiece from Black Sabbath's most popular album, Paranoid, and my favorite song off the album.

I also used this opportunity to review the concert I went to over Fall Break, which was a Pink Floyd cover band (called The Machine) playing Dark Side Of The Moon simultaneously with The Wizard Of Oz projected onto various large screens. It was a fun show. Better than Lazer Floyd...not that Lazer Floyd isn't fun, too. :)
